VNA & Blue Water Hospice leadership honors staff quarterly through the ‘Shining Star’ program, recognizing the extras they do for each other, their patients, and the community.
Prior to coming to VNA & Blue Water Hospice, Amanda worked at a long-term care facility, but found she needed something more fulfilling – she wanted to do more, make more of an impact. It was around this time her grandfather was cared for by Blue Water Hospice. She felt the staff cared not only for her grandfather, but her entire family. She wanted to provide that feeling to someone else.
At VNA & Blue Water Hospice, Amanda educates patients and families in the dying process, providing comfort, and lending an ear. She believes end-of-life is an intimate and difficult time for all involved. She says “everyone should be able to die with dignity and as pain-free as possible. Families are so grateful and happy we provide the care and support that they didn’t even know they needed.”
Waneta recognized Amanda as a Shining Star!
“We are grateful to have Amanda work with us. She never hesitates to help – she offers quality, compassionate care for her patients and assists other staff as well.”
