VNA & Blue Water Hospice leadership honors staff quarterly through the ‘Shining Star’ program, recognizing the extras they do for each other, their patients, and the community.
After high school, Carrie was accepted into the physical therapy program at U of M, unfortunately, the program was put on hiatus before she started. Determined to further her education, she took a career aptitude exam, testing very high for accounting. After working in finance for almost 28 years, she felt a change was needed. She was determined to help people in a more meaningful way.
“I heard about the position at VNA and knew this was how I could make an impact in my community. This has been a great fit for me. At work I’m an extrovert and enjoy talking and helping people. At home, I’m very much an introvert! I love helping people; answering their questions, and connecting them with the correct person. I enjoy being that ‘live person’ for them to talk to. And, my co-workers…I appreciate them, such a dedicated and hardworking group,” says Carrie.
Barb recognized Carrie as a Shining Star!
“I am very thankful to have Carrie in the front office. She helps everyone, no matter what. We all recognize the ongoing challenges she faces and commend her for the hard work and couldn’t manage the demands without her!”
