VNA & Blue Water Hospice leadership honors staff quarterly through the ‘Shining Star’ program, recognizing the extras they do for each other, their patients, and the community.
Before coming to VNA & Blue Water Hospice, Jennica worked in a hospital. Always feeling rushed in that environment, she knew a slower pace and the ability to get to the know patients was more her style. Initially, Jennica came on board as a home health nurse, but has since transitioned into Quality Coordinator.
“As a home health nurse, I got to know my patients and make an impact in their lives. It is a very rewarding job. After transitioning to the Quality department, I found my true passion. As nerdy as it sounds…I enjoy reviewing charts, compiling data, and keeping up on the ever-changing regulations for home care. I look forward to the daily one-on-one interaction I have with staff.”
Jennica says that the staff and culture of the agency are unlike any other “they promote kindness and encourages personal growth, and the flexibility of work/life balance…I have the best job”.
Greg recognized Jennica as a Shining Star!
“Jennica is reliable, professional, and a true specialist in her field. Throughout the pandemic, she has been willing to do whatever is needed – seeing patients in the field, monitoring charts for constantly changing compliance with pandemic protocols, and increasing staff education. While adding these extras she has continued to maintain her own job functions! I appreciate how much she has stepped up & can always count on Jennica.”
