Each year VNA & Blue Water Hospice hosts a Volunteer Lunch, honoring all volunteers as well as naming a Volunteer of the Year. Due to COVID, the lunch in the spring could not take place. Today, they held a special ceremony honoring the 2019 Volunteer of the Year…Fran Meyers!

Fran has been a VNA & Blue Water Hospice volunteer since 2009. She has volunteered in several areas including direct care in the community, bereavement, fundraising, mailings, memorial services, and in her current position in the kitchen. Fran loves to cook and bake many tasty treats.

Her nominator stated “Fran always has a smile and a can-do attitude. In addition to cooking for our residents, she also lends an ear and helps in any way possible. She always asks staff how she can help. In the kitchen, Fran bakes cookies and cakes, helps prepare the meals, sets up the trays, cleans the dishes…always with a smile.”

We are thankful to count Fran Meyers as a VNA & Blue Water Hospice volunteer! And as 2019 Volunteer of the Year!
