In December, VNA & Blue Water Hospice recognizes staff with service awards at the annual All Staff Meeting. This year, Volunteer of the Year was to be announced as well. Due to COVID, the breakfast could not take place and instead a short presentation was held instead.
Volunteers give of their time and their heart. At VNA & Blue Water Hospice, we are grateful for all our volunteers. This year has been one of many “firsts” and so is our process for naming Volunteer of the Year! In this non-traditional kind of year, we are honoring two volunteers.
Marilyn Cruickshank has been named VNA & Blue Water Hospice 2020 Volunteer of the Year. Marilyn has been a VNA & Blue Water Hospice volunteer since 2018. In her time, she has volunteered in many areas such as – companion volunteer, greeter/desk, housekeeping, and mailings.
Heidi Benner, Volunteer Coordinator stated “our agency is blessed to have all of our volunteers, but Marilyn went above and beyond, working shifts at the Blue Water Hospice Home. Always with a smile, and whenever I needed her. I am grateful for Marilyn’s commitment to our organization and patients.”
Marilyn said “volunteering at the Hospice Home gives me purpose. I want to be here for the staff and patients.”
Thank you, Marilyn for all you do for our patients and staff. We appreciate you.
