VNA & Blue Water Hospice leadership honors staff quarterly through the ‘Shining Star’ program, recognizing the extras they do for each other, their patients, and the community.
Let’s get to know Beckie!
Beckie is an RN in the Private Duty division. She has worked at VNA since September 2018 but has been a nurse for more than 18 years.
What do you do at VNA & BWH?
As a Private Duty nurse, I develop individualized care plans for all Private Duty patients, manage medications, perform assessments, and evaluate for other needs the patient may have. I also perform the CENA and Basic Care Provider supervisory visits.
Why did you choose this type of work?
I’ve always had a heart for helping people. Nursing is where I can do that the best!
Why do you choose to work at VNA & BWH?
After working in a hospital for 10 years, VNA was the breath of fresh air that I didn’t know that I needed. I continue to choose to work at VNA because the agency is an awesome place to work. All of the members of our team come together to serve our patients and meet their needs.
What is a favorite memory you have of work?
I have a lot of great memories from work. I would have to say my most treasured are those of just being there for my patients when they need someone the most.
Janet recognized Beckie as a Shining Star!
Rebecca has stepped up to learn the Private Duty electronic verification system. She serves as back-up to the supervisor when needed. Rebecca has been covering the Telehealth system on occasion as well. Rebecca has met with a community partner to help develop a patient monitoring system. There isn’t much that Beckie won’t do. She is an asset to VNA.
