VNA & Blue Water Hospice leadership honors staff & volunteers quarterly through the ‘Shining Star’ program, recognizing the extras they do for each other, their patients, and the community.
Let’s get to know Bonnie!
Bonnie is a registered nurse in the Home Health division of VNA & Blue Water Hospice. She has been with the agency since 2007.
What are some of the responsibilities of your position?
“I educate clients on their diagnosis, medications, improving health status, and wound care.”
What do you like best about VNA & BWH?
“I like that as a contingent employee, I feel like I have a lot of flexibility with my schedule.”
Why did you choose this type of work?
“I was hospitalized quite frequently as a child, and I always had a lot of respect for the nurses that took care of me. I decided that I wanted to become a nurse to help others heal and get healthy.”
Aubrey recognized Bonnie as a Shining Star!
“Bonnie has been a contingent RN with the agency for many years and has stepped up to help as a case manager for a patient requiring extra help. She made sure the patient had everything she needed and even went to the community resource centers to obtain supplies and food for the patient and her family. Her diligence with the patient’s care needs has set the patient on the path of recovery. She comes to the office daily to report her findings and give updates on the patient’s condition. Bonnie’s dedication to this patient’s care and healing exemplifies our mission at VNA & BWH.”
