In her role at the Blue Water Hospice Home, Haley provides care to patients when their home is no longer an option. She is responsible for carrying out a patient’s individualized plan of care, maintain comfort while navigating the ups and downs of the disease process, and working with the family as well.
At first, she thought she would provide care at the county jail, however, she soon found her calling for hospice care. “I find that I learn something every day in the hospice world, whether it’s related to the disease process, or what makes a marriage continue to tick after 72 years!” says Haley. Dedicated to her work, she sought out specialized education, earning CHPLN (Certified Hospice and Palliative Licensed Nurse) certification.
“It means so much that management and my teammates consider me a star. I take pride in my work and really care about my patients and work family. It means a lot to work for an agency that puts patient care and respect above all… providing people the same dignity and respect at the end of life, as they receive at the beginning of life.”
Waneta recognized Haley as a Shining Star!
“She is always willing to do any task that helps the team, recently working midnights for two months to cover shifts. She never hesitates to jump in…her usual response is ‘whatever you need me to do’. Haley is one of the ROCKS in our team!”
