VNA & Blue Water Hospice leadership honors staff & volunteers quarterly through the ‘Shining Star’ program, recognizing the extras they do for each other, their patients, and the community.
Let’s get to know Jennifer!
Jennifer is a CENA in the Private Duty Home Care division at VNA & Blue Water Hospice. She has been with the agency since 2012.
What are some of the responsibilities of your position?
“I do a little of everything for the clients. I do any shopping they need. I assist with hygiene. I do light housekeeping such as dusting, mopping, etc.”
What do you like best about VNA & BWH?
“I like that this organization has been serving the community since 1952. Such a long-standing reputation sure is something!”
Why did you choose this type of work?
“My aunt got me interested. Years ago, she worked for VNA & Blue Water Hospice. I saw the work she did, the difference she made, and I wanted to do that.”
Lori recognized Jennifer as a Shining Star!
“Jennifer has been with VNA & Blue Water Hospice for 13 years. She is a CENA and is also one of the preceptors for new hires on our team. If Jennifer ever needs to miss a visit, she makes every attempt to reschedule, even if it is a weekend. She works hard to build trust with her clients and their families. She is always professional – being prompt for visits and in the care she provides. Jennifer is truly an asset to our agency.”
