VNA & Blue Water Hospice leadership honors staff quarterly through the ‘Shining Star’ program, recognizing the extras they do for each other, their patients, and the community.
Let’s get to know Lacey!
Lacey is an RN in the Home Health division. She has been with VNA since October 2017, but has been a nurse for more than 12 years.
What do you do at VNA & BWH?
I perform all initial start of care assessments on new patients to the Home Health division of the agency.
Why did you choose this type of work?
I enjoy helping others get better in their home environment with family support and achieving their goals at their own pace. I feel that involving family in a patient’s care is so important and really does help patients in their recovery.
Why do you choose to work at VNA & BWH?
VNA has always been very accommodating to family needs and supportive of balancing work and mom life. It is a very supportive environment from leadership to my fellow co-workers.
What is a favorite memory you have of work?
A favorite memory I have is when I came to the team on a full-time basis. I received a lot of encouraging words of support from my co-workers and supervisors. It really felt good to know I made the right decision.
Aubrey recognized Lacey as a Shining Star!
Lacey recently started care for a patient requiring infusions. Unfortunately, the supplies were delayed until later than evening. Once the supplies were in, Lacey went back out that evening to complete the infusion and provide education to the patient and family member. She was able to ease their anxiety by spending time answering questions. We appreciate her going above and beyond for our patients. Thank you, Lacey, for providing such compassionate care and putting our patient’s needs first.
