Prior to sharing her skills with VNA & Blue Water Hospice, Nancy worked many years in a hospital. Her curiosity of the continuum of care had her asking “where is this patient going after leaving us…what kind of care will they receive”. That is when she knew home health care was for her, allowing her to see the patient through their care…not just at the hospital.
After retiring from nursing after 50 years, Nancy just could not give up being a caregiver! It was such an integral part of her…and the agency was such a part of her too! “I like the team approach at VNA – everyone works together” she says. So, she stayed on as a contingent employee and when the agency needs her, she is there.
Greg recognized Nancy as a Shining Star!
“Nancy has been one of the saving graces during the pandemic. While she is retired and currently a contingent employee – no matter what we need, she is there. She even filled in when we needed to realign our HHC supervisor to the field, for patient care needs. She also helped with scheduling, phone visits, whatever the team needed, she does it all. She is an unwavering resource and a calming presence. I am very thankful for Nancy.”
