VNA & Blue Water Hospice leadership honors staff quarterly through the ‘Shining Star’ program, recognizing the extras they do for each other, their patients, and the community.

Paula worked many years in oncology. She liked helping these patients, but felt she could be more beneficial to someone at the end of their life journey. She is fond of spending time with patients and their family at the Blue Water Hospice Home. “It’s really nice we have a dedicated facility for those who can no longer stay in their own home. We give them an option, a place as home-like as possible. I feel fulfilled when I can help a patient find comfort in their final days. And, when I can relieve families of the daily tasks that come with caring for their loved ones themselves…now they can spend quality time together during these final days,” says Paula.
