In the month of November, we honor our entire team of dedicated frontline caregivers, support staff and volunteers, while celebrating National Home Care and Hospice Month. This month is set aside to recognize the millions of nurses, home care aides, therapists, chaplains, and social workers nationwide who make a difference in the lives of the patients and families they serve. These heroic caregivers play a critical role in the health care system and in homes across the nation.
At VNA & Blue Water Hospice, we are grateful for the contributions our staff and volunteers make every day for the patients and families we serve. Each of our three divisions provide a different level of service within the continuum of care. Our Private Duty team assist those with a non-medical need, allowing clients to stay independent in their own home through light housekeeping, medication set-up, and personal care. The clinical In-Home Health Care team works with physicians and health care systems to provide skilled needs to patients, assist with education, and maximize their health and independence. The Hospice team offers care and comfort wherever the patient is located, whether in their home, a facility, or within our Blue Water Hospice Home.
Our dedicated team is the reason we are regularly recognized for our high quality and patient satisfaction by the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services and National Research Corporation and Decision Health. It is also why we are accredited in all divisions by CHAP (Community Health Accreditation Partner) – a highly regarded governing body of home care services. “The past eight months of COVID has shown me what an amazing team we have. Everyone has stepped up in ways I could never have imagined, all while continuing to provide safe and quality care to our patients as we have always done. During these times, our team has stood strong and I am proud and thankful for their commitment,” says Angela DeLaere, VNA & Blue Water Hospice President and CEO.
During this month of giving thanks – thank you to all our staff, physicians, and volunteers, we deeply appreciate your dedication every day. We often hear from patients and families praising our team and we appreciate those kind comments. If would like to thank a staff member or volunteer, please visit www.vnabwh.org/thankyou.
