VNA & Blue Water Hospice leadership honors staff and volunteers quarterly through the Shining Star program, recognizing the extras they do for each other, their patients, and the community.
Let’s get to know Larissa!
What do you do at VNA & BWH?
As a CENA, I work in the Blue Water Hospice Home caring for patients. As an Intake Coordinator, I work with referrals for all divisions (Home Health, Private Duty, and Hospice) of the agency.
Why did you choose this type of work?
I enjoy helping our community – caring for both the patient and their family – it makes me feel like I am making a difference.
Why do you choose to work at VNA & BWH?
I love what this company stands for and the difference we are making in the community. The family-type feel, and flexibility are nice as a work/life balance.
What is a favorite memory you have of work?
Working at the Blue Water Hospice Home is something I will always hold dear to my heart. Being able to transition job roles from CENA to Intake Coordinator and the support from everyone in the agency is something I won’t forget.
Jeannie recognized Larissa as a Shining Star!
Larissa has gone above and beyond multiple times since making the transition from Hospice Clinical Care to Intake Coordinator. While performing her Intake Coordinator role, she has also covered health aide visits for both the Blue Water Hospice Home and the Home Health division. She has jumped in to help cover insurance verification when it was needed to help lessen the load on others. She is always a positive personality in the office and willing to help wherever she is needed. She has been a great asset to the back-office team, we are fortunate to have her!
